Ubuntu 9.04 thoughts after one cup of coffee

Having Ubuntu 9.04 freshly installed I brewed a cup of hazelnut coffee, sat down, and played. After one cup of coffee I found that the newest Ubuntu version feels much faster then 8.10. This could have to do with the move to ext4, which I am using. The desktop ‘magic’ is also much more clean and does not get in my way. Did i mention my dell booted in ~9 seconds?

New Project

So I’ve been working on a new project that I hope to launch by august 2009.  The concept and layout have been completed, and I am very happy with the results. Some tid bits that I can release is I will be utilizing S3 and Cloudfront for the site. Also I think I am going to use CodeIgniter for the framework, since I have used it in the past and have been satisfied with it.

Z06 Leaking Rear End

I did not atten the April rental due to three things

  1. Leaking Rear End
  2. Uhaul wouldn’t rent me a trailer
  3. No company would rent me a larger truck to tow a trailer

But I did save some cash, payed off my bills, which is good. However the rear end on the Z06 is now leaking onto my driveway. It’s not a huge leak but annoying, and I think I might have found the issue. A common problem on C5 corvettes is the driver side axle seal leaks. This is a $16 part and about 8 bolts to get to, I’m sure the dealer would charge me atleast $600 in labor. Due to not wanting to be ripped off by a mechanic I will be attempting this myself, after I get the car on my friends lift to confirm where the leak is coming from.
